I have adult, child, and infant CPR/First Aid certificate and I am currently enrolled in a home health aide training classes to get a Home Health Aide (HHA) Certificate. I have always admired people who dedicated their lives, and time to provide services to the elderly and the young. I love the bond you are able to develop and live each day knowing that I played a special roll in someones life. I was a caregiver to an elderly man for 1year. I basically provided him with light housekeeping (cleaning rooms, dishes, sweeping, mopping, laundry, Vacuuming, dusting and many more) and a 24/7(live-in) personal companion assistance to him at the comfort of his own home. I prepared his meals, got him out of bed and ready for each day, prepared his medication, assist him with walking and transferring him from bed to wheel chair, I took him to the doctors appointment, pharmacy, supermarkets, and many more. He became my best friend, family and everything. Unfortunately, I recently lost this dear friend to cancer but caring for him for 1year and making his life much easier and being his companion, I was very thankful to become such a huge impact on his day to day life taking care of this elderly man. This experience has thought me different perspective of life. Being a brother of a 35 years old sister who has dedicated her whole life since she was 18 years old taking care of the elderly, the disable and the sick, I know what it takes to show a bond, develop that trust and provide that love and companionship to your loved one that might depend on me for his/her day to day life. I enjoyed being there for this wonderful elderly man, assisting him and providing him love and companionship every single day of his remaining life.
